Calling all statistics questions for a data-centric mailbag
Have you ever looked at some of these advanced stats floating around the NBA universe and wondered what the hell they mean? Or seen something with your eyes that you can’t quite figure out how to prove or disprove with data? Ask away below and Drew will answer!
I’ve always wanted to do some variation of a Q&A/mailbag for different questions related to NBA data, and here I am doing some variation of a Q&A/mailbag.
If you are coming here from Twitter, that’s awesome! Welcome to The Strickland, the home of the greatest basketball content in the multiverse. If you are coming here from a Google search, then shot out to EIC Alex Wolfe for his impressive SEO skills. If you have this bookmarked in your browser, then not only are you a true Stricklandian, you should check out the shop and purchases some sweet, sweet merch.
Enough rambling. So, the goal of this is to field as many NBA data/stats-related questions you have for me to attempt to answer. These questions you have can range from the following:
A statistic you don’t really understand.
Specific subjects you would like to be researched.
Wanting me to address issues with any of my research you have read.
All of the above, but related to our beloved New York Knickerbockers.
Please use the comments to ask any questions and be as detailed as possible. If you want to, of course. No one is forcing you to do things against your will. Depending on the questions, I may need time to do the proper research to give an adequate answer, so please be patient for the release of the answers. Hell, maybe a question will spark an entire article. We will see.
I’m very excited to see everyone’s questions and I will do my best to answer each and every question that is asked. It may take multiple articles and multiple months, but it’s all worth it for the scientific process.
