Game Day: Knicks @ Bulls, 2/1/21

The Knicks escaped the snow in New York to travel to Chicago for the second game of a back-to-back. They’ll be in Chicago for the next two games. Can they get off on the right foot in the Windy City?

No time to catch your breath, the Knicks (9-12) are playing the Bulls (7-11) tonight. I saaaid,

If you’re like me, you’re sitting there during games watching and wondering how aggravated the crowd at Madison Square Garden would be with Elfrid Payton. The collective groan as he drives to the hoop and misses the kick out. The bewildered “OH!” when he looks off the open man to call for a high screen. Would the crowd’s agitation help convince Tom Thibodeau to pine this punk?

WE WANT FRANK! WE WANT FRANK!

We won’t be getting Frank Ntilikina, but Immanuel Quickley is rising to the occasion. He will remain in my starting lineup, because that’s where he belongs. I don’t care. Elfrid Payton is GAR. BAGGIO!

The Bulls are rolling without Wendell Carter Jr., who just can’t stay healthy to carve out a role for himself. That means mad Daniel Gafford will throw his body around and flail his arms at people. They will also have rookie intrigue, Patrick Williams, who, though not setting the world on fire specifically, is every bit as advertised in college. A do-it-all defensive wing with excellent size and a burgeoning offensive game.

Do the Knicks have anyone that… resembles… this description? Ugh.

Stop taking up space!

Fuck outta here, Elfrid.

RIP ‘Perb.

Jon is uneducated. A real nobody. He left New York City for the Catskill Mountains several years ago. He has a blue dog and a red house.
