The Strickland: A New York Knicks Site Guaranteed To Make 'Em Jump

Game Day: Knicks @ Kings, 1/22/21

The Knicks travel to Sacramento to continue their west coast trip and attempt to continue their three-game win streak. The Kings are very bad at defense. The Knicks are very good at defense (or are they?? Depending on what egghead you ask). Could the Knicks have their first four-game streak of the year on tap?

Friday Night Knicks. Second game of a back-to-back. West coast road trip. Trap game? Schedule loss, friends. Mark it up, dude. Well, hang on, let’s just relive a lil something.

Thumped ‘em. That’s all there is to it. The return of Alec Burks will help. Whenever Frank Ntilikina is ready, he’ll bring an added clamped dimension. Austin Rivers is good when he’s hot. The Knicks are pretty OK and their record reflects it. They rough you up and force shaky shooters to beat them.

They will be facing a guy tonight who somehow played for the Kentucky Wildcats, and yet isn’t on the Knicks. I didn’t even know that was possible!

All in the name

De’Aaron Fox is wily and cunning, sneaking around and darting toward the open space before quietly clamping down on the neck. The Knicks are in trouble with that guy.

The thing about the Kings is they just can’t get stops. The Knicks are rolling into town possibly feeling fat and sassy after beating the Warriors. Hopefully Julius Randle didn’t drink too many sarsaparillas out there in the Bay.

Devil’s Arithmetic

Hello. The Knicks are good at defense. Don’t get too wrapped up in some egghead doing deep backbends to explain at you how good is actually bad.

Forget that whole “the Knicks have played a schedule heavily weighted towards teams that haven’t had a lot of effective shooting talent” shit. That is caca language! Imagine trying to get directions from someone who speaks to you this way.

So look, if you wanna get to Sacramento, you go straight, there’s a giant red sign that reads, “the caca language is streaming from my fingers.” Ignore that. Take a left in Denver, a right in San Francisco somewhere. We’re not gonna talk about Utah! Whatever happens against the Kings tonight is also inherently a statistical aberration. If they ever play Washington, whether or not teams have been trouncing them is inconsequential, because my only point is that the Knicks suck and I don’t care how you get there, but don’t follow the signs. Make signs that get people to follow you to the bottom.

I look at that chart and say, I think teams should make fewer shots. On top of that, just say, “teams that have played the Knicks are not shooting well.” Thats it. Simplify that psychobabble gobbledygook. Don’t twist it in knots. I need my eggheads to be straight shooters.

So whatever, Sactown is at the top of that chart, it’s a SEGABABA. Game over.
